Pullman Disposal Service Electronic Waste Recycling

There are many dangerous or hazardous chemicals in today’s electronic waste (especially computer monitors).  In fact, Whitman County has banned certain items of e-waste from the landfill.  That means you cannot throw the following items away: TV’s, CPU’s, computer monitors, laptops, and e-readers.

Please do not put your old electronic equipment in the trash. Rather, you may bring in your e-waste to our office from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Mondays through Fridays to have it disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.

We are now collecting some e-waste at no charge (subject to certain limitations) under the auspices of Washington’s E-Cycle program administered by the WMMFA.  Please see below for details.

Just a couple notes. We are open to the public for e-waste collection from Mondays through Fridays 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please stop in our office first to sign in before dropping off the material.

Do NOT drop off e-waste unattended. Unattended e-waste can possibly be removed by members of the public. Destroy or remove your hard-drive before leaving your computer towers. Recycle computers with intact hard drives at Your Own Risk! Recycle cell phones at the front office.

Not all e-waste is free. Here are the items covered by the state program (these are the same items that are banned by the county landfill) :

* Televisions

* CPU’s – often called towers, these are the main computing unit that powers all the other computer peripherals

* Computer monitors

* Portable or laptop computers and e-readers

We are unable to accept commercial quantities of electronic waste.

Please note that computer peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and printers, scanners, copiers, etc. are NOT included in this program. Theses other items we will continue to take at 50 cents a pound.  These items are not banned from the landfill and can be thrown in the garbage if you do not want to bring them up to our facility for recycling.  Please call us if you need help transporting your e-waste to Pullman Disposal.
